Is this crypto exchange FIU-IND registered?

FIU-IND does not publish a public register. The only official, name-by-name list is the government's answer to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question 5805 (30 March 2026): 54 VDA service providers registered as reporting entities as on 9 March 2026, and 53 offshore platforms whose apps and websites FIU-IND directed to be blocked. Registered means the platform must follow anti-money-laundering rules and report to FIU-IND. It is not a licence, an approval or a safety guarantee (the government says so in the same answer).
What the list actually shows
42 of 54
Only 42 are fully on-boarded and operating: 9 told FIU-IND they have stopped or wound up, and 3 are only conditionally on-boarded.

KuCoin, Binance, Bybit and Coinbase are on both lists: once directed to be blocked, registered as on 9 March 2026. A block is not a life ban.

The block list is not just exchanges. It also names payment wallets Skrill and Neteller, and on-ramps MoonPay and Mercuryo.

What it means for your tax
Tax is the same on every platform: 30% + 4% cess on gains and 1% TDS on sales. Registered Indian exchanges deduct the TDS and deposit it against your PAN. On an offshore platform, check who deducts the TDS (see Circular 13/2022), and crypto held abroad may need reporting in Schedule FA. Work out the tax with the crypto tax calculator.
FAQ
Does FIU-IND publish a list of registered crypto exchanges?
No. The government told the Lok Sabha on 30 March 2026 that no public portal exists, because a public list could make people think the platforms are licensed or approved. The only name-by-name list is Annexure I to that answer.
How many crypto exchanges are registered with FIU-IND?
54 VDA service providers as on 9 March 2026. Of these, 9 are marked not operational or wound up and 3 conditionally on-boarded, so 42 are fully on-boarded and operating.
Is Binance registered with FIU-IND?
Yes. Annexure I lists Nest Services Limited (earlier Binance International Limited), Seychelles, at S.N. 47. Binance also appears on Annexure II, the takedown list, which was an earlier action.
Is OKX registered with FIU-IND?
No. OKX is not on the registered list and appears on Annexure II at S. No. 10, the platforms whose apps and websites were directed to be blocked.
Does FIU-IND registration mean an exchange is safe?
No. Registration makes a platform a reporting entity under the PMLA, 2002, with anti-money-laundering duties. India has no crypto licensing regime, and registration gives no guarantee or recourse if you lose money.
How current is this list?
It is as on 9 March 2026, the latest official name-by-name list. We re-checked on 30 October 2026 and found no newer official list. This page will be updated when one appears.
How we built this: both annexures were copied row by row from the Lok Sabha PDF with no changes beyond spacing. Markings: * = not operational or wound up per the entity's own submission, ** = conditionally on-boarded. Name matching runs in your browser: lowercase, no punctuation, and words like "Pvt Ltd", "Technologies" and "Exchange" ignored. Nothing is sent anywhere.
