Transaction ID (TXID / transaction hash)
A transaction ID, also called a TXID or transaction hash, is a unique string of letters and numbers that identifies a single transaction on a blockchain. It is produced by hashing the transaction's data, so no two transactions share one.
When you withdraw crypto from an exchange or send it from your wallet, you will normally be shown the TXID. Pasting it into a block explorer lets you see whether the transaction is still waiting in the mempool or has been included in a block, how many confirmations it has, what fee was paid and which addresses received the funds.
TXIDs are the standard evidence in support queries. If an exchange says it has not received your deposit, sharing the TXID helps it trace the payment. A TXID contains no private information that would let someone take your funds, so it is safe to share with support teams, but it does reveal the addresses and amounts involved.
