FAQ
What is 1 satoshi in INR today?
At the 23 October 2026 snapshot, 1 satoshi was worth about ₹0.07713 (1 BTC = ₹77,13,390 divided by 100,000,000). The converter above uses the live price and refreshes every 60 seconds.
How many satoshis are in 1 Bitcoin?
100,000,000 (10 crore). Bitcoin's software counts every amount in whole satoshis: the reference client defines COIN as 100,000,000 base units, and the 21 million BTC cap is 21,000,000 × COIN.
How many sats do I get for ₹100?
About 1,296 sats at the 23 October 2026 snapshot price, before your exchange's fees, spread and the 1% TDS that applies when you sell (not when you buy).
What are bits, mBTC and msats?
1 mBTC (millibitcoin) = 0.001 BTC = 1,00,000 sats. 1 bit (microbitcoin, μBTC) = 0.000001 BTC = 100 sats. The Lightning Network also counts in millisatoshis (msat), one-thousandth of a satoshi, but on-chain Bitcoin transactions settle in whole satoshis.
Are sats taxed differently from Bitcoin in India?
No. A satoshi is simply a fraction of a bitcoin, so selling or swapping sats is a transfer of a virtual digital asset: 30% tax plus 4% cess on the gain, with 1% TDS on the sale value, the same as for whole coins.
Why does my exchange show a different rupee amount?
This page uses CoinGecko's global average price in rupees. Indian exchanges have their own order books and have usually traded a little above the global price; see our INR premium tracker for today's gap.
