One Solana (SOL) was worth ₹9,107.89 at about 5:00 PM IST on 5 November 2026, or $96.49, according to CoinGecko’s live price. That is up 2.6% in rupees over the past 24 hours, but it is a third below where SOL sat a year ago. Our live Solana price page tracks it in ₹ through the day.
The part most price pages miss: an Indian holder lost less than the dollar chart shows, because the rupee weakened over the same year.

A year of Solana in rupees
These are CoinGecko’s daily reference prices for each date. You can check any other day with our crypto price on date tool.
| Date | Price in ₹ | Price in $ |
|---|---|---|
| 5 Nov 2025 | ₹13,744 | $155.20 |
| 1 Jan 2026 | ₹11,203 | $124.52 |
| 5 May 2026 | ₹7,998 | $84.08 |
| 5 Aug 2026 | ₹7,010 | $73.71 |
| 5 Oct 2026 | ₹11,705 | $121.52 |
| 5 Nov 2026 | ₹9,108 | $96.49 |
Three things stand out. SOL fell for most of the first half of 2026, reaching about ₹7,010 in early August. It then rallied 67% in rupees to ₹11,705 by early October. Since then it has given back 22% of that level.
How the rupee cushioned the fall
Dividing CoinGecko’s rupee price by its dollar price gives the exchange rate it used. On 5 November 2025 that was about ₹88.56 per dollar. Today it is about ₹94.39, so the rupee is 6.6% weaker.
| Measure | 5 Nov 2025 | 5 Nov 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOL in $ | $155.20 | $96.49 | -37.8% |
| USD/INR (implied) | 88.56 | 94.39 | +6.6% |
| SOL in ₹ | ₹13,744 | ₹9,108 | -33.7% |
BtcMedia verdict: about four percentage points of the dollar loss never reached an Indian holder’s rupee statement. That cushion works both ways. If the rupee strengthens, SOL can fall in ₹ even on a day it is flat in dollars. The same effect shows up in our 1,000 TRX to INR piece, where the weaker rupee supplied a large part of the year’s gain.
What a SOL sale costs in tax
Take someone who bought 10 SOL on 5 August 2026 for about ₹70,099 and sells today for ₹91,079.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sale value | ₹91,079 |
| Cost | ₹70,099 |
| Gain | ₹20,980 |
| Tax at 30% + 4% cess (31.2%) | ₹6,546 |
| 1% TDS deducted on sale | ₹911 (credited against the ₹6,546) |
| Profit after tax | ₹14,434 |
India taxes gains on virtual digital assets at a flat 30% plus cess, with no deduction except the cost of purchase, under section 115BBH. Exchange fees are not deductible. A buyer from 5 October would instead be sitting on a loss of about ₹25,972 on 10 SOL, and that loss cannot cut tax on any other gain, as we showed in our XRP loss explainer.
Run your own numbers with the crypto tax calculator and the TDS calculator. If you stake SOL, rewards can create a separate tax point when you receive them; the staking and airdrop tax calculator walks through both stages.
What it means for Indian investors
The rupee price is the one that decides your tax and your real return, so track SOL in ₹, not just in dollars. Keep the date and ₹ value of every buy, because the cost you can deduct is the only relief the law allows.
